Alex the Astronaut has described her performance atop Q1 tower in Surfers Paradise as a "freaky-deeky" gig in the lead-up to next month's inaugural Springtime music festival.
"My plan was to just imagine I was on the ground but it's a lot harder when you're 330 metres in the air," the Australian singer-songwriter said.
Down at sea level, local band Buttered are set to play at Springtime as well — a big step-up from gigs in front of "about three people".
According to Buttered's Scott Dalton and Jackson Smith, the addition of Springtime to the city's cultural calendar showed it had been been a "pretty strong, probably half-decade for the Gold Coast music scene".
