Thousands of skilled foreign workers and students, many of whom have lived in Australia for years, remain stuck overseas and are calling on the Australian government to let them come back home. Australia shut its borders six weeks ago on March 20 to help stop the spread of COVID-19, only allowing Australian citizens and permanent residents to fly back into the country. The move has meant people who were living and working in Australia on temporary visas - but were overseas at the time - have been left with no idea of when they will be able to return.
